We have been here for the last 4 weekends to meet Dad. He lives at Southerness so initially it was to save him as he informally drives to us, but its a real gem! So warm and welcoming. The food is outstanding. We have ordered from the special board every time and it is fantastic quality! Keep it up! Cant wait to return.

Our favourite place for a great meal when we visit Southerness. Very well organised , super clean and sanitised . We were met at the door and shown to our table , fantastic table service, we ordered drinks then when they arrived placed our food order. king prawns stir fried in a black bean and chill sauce served with rice, scampi chips and salad and a childrens chicken fillet meal served with chips and peas. Wow it was lovely my king prawns were king prawns and there were lots of them too, hubby really enjoyed his scampi and our fussy child who eats nothing cleared her plate! I had the nicest gluten free sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream too. Very good value for money. We will see you again next year!

Staff as ever, warm, welcoming and friendly. Have eaten several times this week with grandchildren and dogs. Doggie bags no problem (sometimes needed as portions are so generous) bar and food prices very reasonable. Nice to see the lovely redecoration and new tables outside, shame the weather didn’t allow us to try them out. Thank you Wilma, Jordanna, Willie etc. (sorry we don’t know your names yet!!) See you in August

Took parents a run down Solway Coast on Saturday night and decided to have supper at the Paul Jones, When we arrived it was very busy and there were no tables available, The staff were brilliant and said they would find us a table as long as we were prepared for a 20/30 minute wait for food as kitchen was extremely busy, 5 mins later we were seated, Ordered our food and drink and as promised food was with us in about 20 minutes, The home made steak pie was brilliant, Lovely big chunks of lean beef in a thick gravy and fresh veg really hit the spot, Parents had the macaroni cheese one with salad one with side order of chips, Great portion sizes and both of them remarked how tasty it was, This is a very well run place with all staff at top of their game, Even with it being so busy everything was running like clockwork and all the staff were working hard with big smiles for the customers. We will return.

We often stay at the park deans caravan park. So we often pop into this lovely pub. My husband and father love the beer and say it's rather tasty! I had fish and chips in the restaurant and was very pleased. Crispy batter, beautiful white flakey fish. Highly recommended! The pub overlooks a lighthouse and a stunning view of the sea. Our caravan was a 15 minute walk down the beach, so you don't have to drive which is a great bonus!
Wonderful food and staff

Been out with the family on Saturday night and had a lovely meal in the hotel. Had to book in advance as the hotel is always popular and it was Easter weekend. The food is lovely and plenty to choose from, they had a kids menu and cater for all the family. The staff are friendly and efficient at their job. They make you feel like one of the family. Don't be on a diet as the plates are heaving with food but they do offer a smaller portion if you require. Will be back again soon as we have our own caravan in Southerness. Looking forward to the next time, yum yum!!

Great food and friendly staff.....good value to especially the early bird deal...two courses for under £9, can't beat that and no scrimping on the portion size either. Kids meal was a good size for a 12 year old.... would recommend to anyone in the Southerness area if they fancies a wee change from the caravan site restaurants.
Brilliant food and a warm welcome!

My partner and I have just returned from a long weekend in Southerness. We re-visited the Paul Jones for dinner and weren't disappointed. We discovered this place last September when we were climbing Criffel. It may not look like much from the outside, but inside it's cosy and traditional with excellent home-cooked food. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff - if you're visiting nearby, do yourself a favour and sample the cooking. You won't be disappointed - a wee gem!
